How Do You Clean a Graco Car Seat?

Graco makes infant seats, convertibles, all-in-ones and boosters, and the care instructions aren't the same for all of them. The first step is knowing exactly which one you have.

Find your model number

Look for the label on the seat, often on the side, back or bottom of the shell. It lists the model name or number and the date of manufacture. Take a photo of it so you have it handy.

Get the manual for that model

If the paper manual is long gone, search Graco's website for your model. Graco's customer service can help if you can't find it. Make sure the manual matches your exact seat, since similar-looking seats can have different instructions.

Every brand and model has its own care rules, and they can differ between the cover, the harness, the buckle and the shell. If anything here disagrees with your manual, follow your manual.

Cleaning it, the way the manual says

1. Take photos of the seat and the harness routing before you remove anything.
2. Vacuum the seams, cup holders and buckle area.
3. Remove the cover and pads only as the manual shows, and clean them the way it lists.
4. Clean the harness and buckle using only the method the manual allows.
5. Wipe the shell the way the manual describes.
6. Let everything dry fully, then reassemble using your photos and the manual.
