How Do You Clean a Stroller?
Strollers go everywhere: the park, the beach, the store, the garage. Here's how to clean one top to bottom, following your manufacturer's care instructions.

Start with the manual
Stroller fabrics, frames and folding parts differ by brand and model. Your manual says which fabrics come off, how they can be cleaned and what to avoid on the frame and wheels.
Step by step
- Empty the basket and every pocket.
- Shake out loose crumbs and sand, then vacuum the seat, the canopy folds and the basket.
- Remove fabric parts only if your manual allows it, and clean them the way it lists.
- Wipe the frame and hard surfaces using what the manual recommends.
- Clean the wheels and the areas around them, where dirt and grit build up.
- Wipe the harness and buckle only the way the manual allows.
- Let everything dry fully, open, before folding or storing the stroller.
Before storing it
Putting a stroller away until the next baby? Clean it first and let it dry fully, so nothing sits in the fabric for months.
